  • Children In Need

    6th December 2016

    In November we had a non-uniform day to raise money for Children in Need.  We held it at then end of anti-bullying week and the children could come to school to in their own clothes, but to incorporate something blue, for 50p.  We raised £167 for Children in Need

  • Playground Leaders

    3rd May 2016

    We have invested in a trolley filled with new sports equipment for the children to use during their social times. The children are already enjoying using this equipment and we are seeing a greater interest in a number of different competitive sports that they can access.

  • Sport Relief

    2nd May 2016

    Congratulations to all the children for raising a massive £1226.06 for Sport Relief 2016. The children all dressed up in red, baked cakes to sell during break times, as well as being sponsored to take part in a Haka Dance.

    Furthermore, a special thanks to all the support when biking into school that morning after setting off at 4am from Barnsley. It made it all worthwhile. What a fantastic welcoming.

  • Crucial Crew

    28th April 2016

    Our Y6 pupils recently visited the Life Wise centre in Rotherham. During their visit, they completed a number of activities to learn what to do in a range of situations, including: road safety, emergency first aid, alcohol awareness, using the bus safely, internet safety, fire safety and much more. The children also participated in a mock trial at a magistrate court and learned about how to handle issues such as peer pressure. It was a very fun and informative day.

  • Earthquake hits Rossington!

    Our year 4 pupils arrived in school this morning to a big surprise! Something had taken place overnight, resulting in their classrooms being in rather a mess. After conducting some very thorough investigations, the children came to the conclusion that an earthquake had hit their corridor! Well done to Y4 for solving the mystery!

  • Arthur the dog

    We have a very special new member of PBA- Arthur the dog. Arthur will be making weekly visits to our Academy over the forthcoming weeks. How exciting!


  • New table tennis club

    14th March 2016

    We have a new and exciting club- table tennis. Mr Sylvester will be running this club every Tuesday after school from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

  • Crocus update

    Mr Jerrison and his group of gardeners are really pleased with the progress that the crocuses are making. I wonder who can spot what they are spelling yet?

  • Romans arrive at PBA

    8th March 2016

    In Year 4 we had an amazing time when two Romans came into school to spend the day with us. Our new Roman friends taught us all about Ancient Roman civilisation and how it still impacts on us, in Britain, today! Throughout the day, we took part in lots of fun activities such as dancing and gladiator fighting as well as making some beautiful laurel wreaths and a human aqueduct!

  • World book day 2016

    3rd March 2016

    Everyone at Pheasant Bank made a very special effort to celebrate World Book Day. Lots of special book themed activities took place during lessons, including story writing and poetry activities.

    All of the pupils were invited to come to the Academy dressed as their favourite book character, with some of our favourites taking part in a special catwalk show. Well done to everyone that took part and special congratulations to those children who won prizes for their amazing costumes.

  • Year six extended learning club

    28th February 2016

    Every pupil in year six has been invited to attend our extended learning club, which takes place from 8am to 9am every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This provides pupils with the opportunity to complete their home learning with the help of their fellow pupils and teachers. They are all provided with a breakfast each morning (free of charge).

  • Story telling day

    We were very lucky to have a special guest in the Academy today- our very own story teller! Each year group took part in a range of activities to help them to develop their story writing skills. Fun was had by all and I am sure that we will start seeing the results in our writing very soon.  

  • Young Voices at Sheffield Arena

    19th January 2016

    On Tuesday 19th January 2016 a group of students from Pheasant Bank Academy joined the world’s largest choir at Young Voices, Sheffield Arena.  There were over 5000 children there from 110 schools. After months of hard work, learning the songs and actions, it all paid off because the concert was a huge success. The children sang and danced alongside special guests; Urban Strides, Laura wright and Tom Billington.  There was also a special guest Barney from Blue Peter, who conducted a song as part of a Blue p

  • Keeping PBA tidy

    Well done to all of our pupils for working hard to keep our Academy grounds tidy. The children in this photograph worked with Mr Jerrison to pick up litter that had blown on to our playground and field last week.

  • Molly makes us proud!

    10th January 2016

    Molly, one of our year 6 pupils, made us all very proud recently, when she decided to take a very brave step in the name of charity. Molly had all of her beautiful hair cut off to donate to the little princess trust. Her hair is going to be used to make a wig for a little girl who has lost her hair.

    Well done Molly, what a very thoughtful young lady you are!
