  • National Coalmining Museum

    13th September 2018

    On Thursday 13th September 2018, as part of the topic work in Year 6, we visited the National Coalmining Museum in West Yorkshire.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and we can’t wait to learn more about the history of mining within Yorkshire and Rossington.



  • Year 6 Leavers Assembly

    19th July 2018

    We are very sad that our Year 6 children will be leaving us this week to start Secondary school in September.  Today we had a very emotional leavers assembly to say goodbye.

  • Year 6 Prom

    19th July 2018

    This year we had our first every Year 6 Prom at Pheasant Bank Academy.  It was a fantastic night and a great way to celebrate everything that the children have achieved in their time at Pheasant Bank Academy.




  • Whitby 2018 - Year 5 Residential

    15th June 2018

    On the 15th and 16th June 2018, 70 of our Year 5 children visited Whitby for an overnight residential.  This was the first time we have ever done this at Pheasant Bank Academy. 

  • Sing Out at the Doncaster Dome

    14th June 2018

    Yesterday evening, a number of children from Year 3 and 4 travelled to Doncaster Dome to take part in Sing Out! We joined other Doncaster schools and Vermuyden Concert Band to entertain our family  and friends. An amazing time was had by all and the teachers could not have been more proud of our choir. Well done!



  • Red, White & Blue Day

    18th May 2018

    We celebrated the Royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Friday.  We had the bunting up and we all wore clothes of red, white and blue.  At lunchtime the whole school went onto the field and we had a whole school picnic.  We played traditional games such as croquet and large chess.  We even had an ice-cream van which proved so popular it had to make an extra visit today so that Year 6 didn't miss out.









  • Murton Park

    19th April 2018

    As part of their topic work for Vikings Year 5 visited Murton Park on two visits - 19th & 20th April.  They made clay oil lamps, defended the village from invasion and helped the locals.  In class the children made a Viking timeline and a map showing where the Vikings invaded.









  • Tropical Butterfly House

    7th March 2018

    Year 3 visited The Tropical Butterfly House in Sheffield.  They had a fabulous time learning about mini beasts, meerkats, butterflies, birds and lots of other amazing wildlife from around the world.  They even got the opportunity to touch some unusual animals.

  • Ewden Water Treatment Works

    27th February 2018

    The children of Krushmeisters took part in an educational visit to Yorkshire Water's Treatment works in Sheffield.  Despite the weather forecasting heavy snow, this did not materialise and stop them attending the visit.  All of the children enjoyed a guided tour of the works whilst wearing suitable safety clothing.  They also took part in activities to learn about the water cycle, water around the world and water conservation.


  • Young Voices

    15th January 2018

    We took over 80 children from Year 3 to Year 6 to sing at the Young Voices choir at Sheffield Arena on Monday 15 January 2018.  There were over 5000 children at the event and the children enjoyed singing a range of songs alongside professional singers and dancers.  It was an amazing experience and the children's behaviour was impeccable.  We look forward to going again next year.  Thank you to all the parents who supported the visit.








  • Inclusive Football Tournament

    1st December 2017

    On Friday 24 November 2017 our school sent 4 teams to the Keepmoat Stadium to take part in an Inclusive Football Tournament.  The children learned skills with the FA and they played matches against other teams.  Lots of schools took part, but our school came 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. We received compliments afterwards from the organization for manners used, respect shown and great conduct used.

  • Year 3 Trip to Flamborough

    26th October 2017

    As part of their topic work learning about the Stone Age, Year 3 had a school trip to Flamborough on Friday 20 October.  They visited the beach where they explored the coast and they went on a hunt for fossils and rocks.





  • Doncaster In Bloom 2017

    26th October 2017

    The awards for Doncaster in Bloom 2017 were presented at the Mansion House last night (Wednesday 25 October).  Mr Jerrison, our Site Supervisor, attended with our Year 4 Stormbreakers pupil and Pheasant Bank picked up 6 gardening awards!  Mr Jerrison said "Thank you for a brilliant evening and well done to all at Pheasant Bank Gardeners".






  • Diwali - Year 3

    12th October 2017

    On Thursday 12 October, the Year 3 children took part in a full day of activities to celebrate Diwali - Festival of Light.

    They all learned a traditional Indian dance which they performed for their parents at the end of the day.



  • Knights & Castle Day - Year 4

    10th October 2017

    On Tuesday 10 October, Year 4 held a knights and castles day in school.  They learned about the 15th Century, castles, the War of the Roses and the plague.


    The children took part in various educational activities and had the chance to look at artefacts from the era.




  • Sheffield Institute of Sport - Year 5

    4th October 2017

    On Wednesday 4 October the Year 5 children went to the Sheffield Institute of Sport to take part in some sporting activities.





  • MacMillan Coffee Morning

    29th September 2017

    On Friday 29 September, in the afternoon, we invited parents and carers to come into school for the MacMillan Coffee Morning.  Many parents had donated lots of cakes and buns.  We raised £155.39 for MacMillan nurses.

  • Sheffield Institute of Sport

    6th July 2017

    On Friday 30 June, our children had a fantastic day at the Active Fusion Festival of Sport, held at the Institute of Sport in Sheffield.  The children got a chance to take part in a range of different sports, as well as receiving full marks for their determination, team work and attitude in every activity. The effort, enthusiasm and sportsmanship shown was infectious and was commented on by lots of people throughout the day.


  • Gardening Club

    25th May 2017

    The Gardening Club have created some lovely hanging baskets and the sunflowers have started sprouting.






  • Google Expeditions

    6th April 2017

    Google expeditions came to Pheasant Bank Academy this week.  The children took field trips and explored through collections of 360 degree and 3D images all without leaving school.
