On Thursday the 13th February, a group of wildlife enthusiasts at Pheasant Bank Academy took part in the RSPB's 'Big School Birdwatch'. The young conservationists, from years three to six, spent time in class researching and identifying different species of birds before using this knowledge on their walk around the school grounds. Macie Nichols, one of the participants said, "Taking part was really fun and interesting, I didn't realise how many species of birds used our school as place to rest, nest and feed. It's really important that we look after our environment so that wildlife can thrive".
After the group had recorded their sightings, they uploaded their results onto the RSPB website and contributed to the national database.
