The Year 4 children at Pheasant Bank Academy are learning about ‘Rivers and Seas’ and the impact of pollution on our environment. As part of their learning they had the opportunity to study some of the amazing wildlife at Yorkshire’s Sea Life Centre in Scarborough. The children were fascinated to learn about how our native sea life has adapted to living off the Yorkshire coast and about what they could do to help protect sea habitats from pollution.
They also learned about how species adapt to live in tropical climates and the challenges they face from global warming.
Year 4 took their science journals with them to record the information so they could use it to support their writing back at school.
